Telesphere Extends Nationwide MPLS network for Private SIP Trunking with Atlanta and Chicago Super Hubs

New super hubs provide multi-site enterprises with convenient, cost-effective options for SIP interconnection with IP PBXes from Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk and others

PHOENIX, Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprises understand the bottom-line benefits of migrating to IP PBXes, but they frequently overlook how using SIP trunking on a nationwide, private, secure and QoS-enabled IP network provides another layer of operational advantages. With the addition of points of presence (POPs) in Atlanta and Chicago, Telesphere's network of private SIP trunking services provides medium-size multi-site businesses nationwide with a fast, cost-effective and low-complexity solution as they migrate to IP PBXes and cloud/hosted communication services.

Telesphere's private, nationwide MPLS network provides direct private SIP interconnection to IP PBXes from vendors such as Asterisk, Avaya and Cisco, as well as TDM PBXes. By using Telesphere for private SIP trunking, businesses with multiple offices around the city, region or country will no longer have the expense and complexity of PSTN gateways and the need to work with multiple service providers.

Telesphere's network uses Acme Packet session border controllers (SBCs) to enable efficient interoperability with on-premises IP PBXs.

The new Atlanta and Chicago super hubs will serve enterprises in the Midwest and Southeast. The new Super Hubs are part of Telesphere's aggressive network expansion throughout the United States.

Enterprises now can execute a "cap-and-grow" strategy: phase out their on-site TDM PBXes in favor of hosted IP PBXes to reduce costs, with Telesphere serving as their single, nationwide provider of SIP interconnection. In the process, businesses now can use Telesphere's private SIP trunking to access a wide range of cloud-based communications services and advanced features to increase employee productivity. This strategy lets enterprises maximize the value of their IP PBXes by adding services such as video sooner and more cost-effectively than if they had to buy advanced features from a third-party vendor and manage them daily.

Brasher's Auto Auctions illustrates many of these benefits. Telesphere's network provides a secure, reliable and 100 percent private connection between all seven Brasher's offices. Brasher's IT team uses this network with its on-premises PBX to provide free calling between all of the company's offices, with inherent redundancy to enable disaster recovery.

"Telesphere is a trusted partner of Brasher's that provides us with the high-quality voice service, reliable connectivity, and advanced features that free us to focus on our business," said Ty Brewer, CIO, Brasher's. "SIP trunking might sound like a foreign concept to a lot of business owners, however it's a tremendous opportunity for them to save money, improve employee productivity and enable business continuity."

IP PBX resellers also can offer their customers Telesphere's private SIP trunking to provide a value-added bundle of infrastructure, connectivity and cloud services. This strategy gives resellers a powerful new way to differentiate themselves by catering to the emerging needs in enterprise communications, particularly in the underserved medium-size enterprise market.

"With Telesphere's nationwide managed network, businesses now can use private SIP trunking to extend cloud-based services such as video, fixed-mobile convergence and unified communications to all of their facilities," said Sanjay Srinivasan, Telesphere CTO. "By adding native IP interconnection to IP PBXes, Telesphere continues to stay ahead of the competition when it comes to anticipating and meeting businesses' evolving communications needs."

Inc. Magazine's 2011 list of America's fastest-growing companies ranked Telesphere first among large providers of cloud communications services and No. 965 overall.
