Toshiba Optimizes New PCs For The Windows 8 Touchscreen Experience

New Devices Include Company's First Ultrabook Convertible, a Touchscreen All-in-One PC and Premium Touchscreen Entertainment Laptop

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced several touchscreen PCs designed for Windows 8, including a pioneering Ultrabook(TM) Convertible device, an All-in-One Desktop PC and a premium entertainment laptop.

Satellite U925t: Tablet Meets Ultrabook - in a Single Pioneering Device

The Satellite(R) U925t Ultrabook Convertible combines the performance and form factor of an Ultrabook with the ease-of-use of a tablet and is ideal for on-the-go consumers and professionals. The device can be used in two modes: as a tablet or as an Ultrabook made possible by its unique sliding hinge. From tablet mode, users can slide the display back and tilt it up to reveal an LED backlit raised tile keyboard and Synaptics ClickPad(TM) with Windows 8 gesture support and use the device like a traditional Ultrabook.

Less than 0.8 inches thin and weighing only 3.2 pounds[1], the Satellite U925t features a lightweight, soft touch surface, offering the portability of a traditional Ultrabook as well as a long battery life rating. Its vivid 12.5-inch diagonal HD touchscreen display[2] with IPS technology provides impressive viewing angles whether in tablet or Ultrabook mode, while Corning(R) Gorilla(R) Glass resists scratches. The Satellite P845t offers consumers a premium Windows 8 touch experience in a traditional clamshell laptop design. Featuring a 14-inch diagonal HD touchscreen display with edge-to-edge glass, the Satellite P845t incorporates everything needed for an amazing entertainment and powerful multitasking experience, including ultra-responsive 3rd generation Intel Core processors and Intel Rapid Start technology, 6GB of DDR3 memory and a spacious 750GB hard drive.
