There seems to be some very cool technology in the works at the University of Washington that could change the way we look as displays forever, or in this case, look at no display. They are working on a technology that can beam images directly onto our retinas using laser technology, offering possibly unlimited resolution at a very small tradeoff in size. The technology, called Virtual Retinal Display (VRD) could be the first step towards real virtual reality in the future. It is currently limited to only displaying red, but they say that color images will be comign very soon. *shudders* That brings back horrible memories of VirtualBoy and the many headaches it's horrible technology caused....
