DENVER, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting January 1, 2013 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will require healthcare personnel (HCP) influenza vaccination reporting for the 2012-2013 season for certain types of healthcare facilities. Data will be reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) surveillance system.

Hospitals participating in the CMS Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting program are required to submit their data within the revised influenza module.
