Site Profiles 100,000 Adoptable Animals with More Videos, Photos and Shelter Information

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DogTime Media, the largest vertical media community focused exclusively on pet owners, announced the launch of their adoptable animal finder site adopt.dogtime.com.

The new site features nearly 100,000 animals currently available for adoption from legitimate shelters and rescue groups across the country. Users can easily search through large photos of each animal and find compelling videos using a uniquely powerful search tool that can filter by breed, gender, age, zip code, coat length, size and distance from the users' location.

Detailed information about the shelters is provided, including contact info, address, a map, and a complete listing of all the adoptable pets that can be found at each shelter. Users can follow their "favorite" shelters and be notified when new animals are available for adoption.

"We have spent the last five years learning what is missing from the leading online sources of adoptable animals and listening to the concerns of shelter volunteers," said DogTime Media President Simon Tonner. "Our new platform provides an unprecedented level of transparency that helps adopters find legitimate shelters and helps volunteers maximize awareness for the animals in their shelters."

Users can easily share animals via Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, or email, and can choose "favorite" animals to follow until they leave the shelter. In an effort to ensure the quality of the adoption listings in the database the data is scrubbed for puppy mills and breeders posing as shelters or rescues and is updated every 15 minutes.

DogTime Media also offers an iframe version of the Adoptable Animal Finder. It's available free to any individual, shelter, business, or blogger who wants to feature adoptable pets on their website. This version currently sits on over 200 websites, is easy to implement and is available at no cost. For more information please contact info@dogtimemedia.com.
