At MWC'13, Allegro DVT Refines AL1200 HEVC Encoder After the Release of HEVC/H.265 Final Draft

Allegro DVT lights the way to a bright future, for the latest born-to-kill compression
standard. HEVC Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) was only promoted as such a month
ago, and Allegro DVT already ships a live encoder fully compliant with the standard.
"Having started working on HEVC quite ahead of the standard finalization allows us to
propose now, available off-the-shelf, the first and most innovative live HEVC encoder for
mobile TV and multiscreen services of 2013-2014. As predicted, we are already seeing HEVC
ecosystems emerging, based on software decoders even though HEVC decoding chips are not
out there yet.
There already exist player implementations taking advantage of the huge CPU power

AL1200 is the headstone of Allegro DVT coherent product line for headends, which
addresses the various facets of video distribution with:
- AL2400 high density multiscreen H.264 transcoder. This product turned out
to be a masterstroke, as it is now, the densest and most integrated headend-in-a-box,
comprising 48 OTT channels to all HTTP formats including HLS, MSS, MPEG-DASH, DRM
support, autonomous redundancy, origin server and fragmentation in just a 1RU space.
- ALFragmenter, for all headend and edge applications requiring multiscreen
re-packaging, appliance based or virtualized.
- ALMosaic, a classic for headend monitoring and set top box navigation
applications.
Allegro DVT will expose all its technologies at the Mobile World Congress 2013, Hall
5, booth 8 and 9 of the French Pavilion (#5E100).
