First Ever Virtual Festival of Emotional Intelligence: eWeek March 18-24

Completely free, eWeek blends the latest science and practical strategies. Each day during the festival, several live webinars will feature experts on using feelings more effectively in business, education, and life. Speakers will share the latest neuroscience that reveals essential insights to create high performance at work, strengthen leadership, and also increase safety and reduce violence in schools.
In education, a growing body of research on "social emotional learning," or SEL, shows that students who have an effective SEL curriculum earn better grades and score higher on test, while at the SAME time reducing conflict, violence, and risk behaviors. Dr. Susan Stillman, a former school counselor and professor of education will be one of the festival speakers. She explains, "This is beyond character education. We're talking about building a safe and inclusive school climate, training teachers to use emotional intelligence tests and curriculum, and to practice the skills themselves." Stillman says that the key ingredients are teacher training and parent education.
Other presentations include a workshop by neuroscientist Paul Zak sharing research on trust in high performing teams, and a special presentation by Richard Boyatzis, who developed one of the leading emotional intelligence tests together with Dr. Daniel Goleman. Boyatzis will speak about how to be a more effective coach by using feelings intentionally.
The eWeek festival is also the kickoff event for the NexusEQ Conference at Harvard University in June (http://www.NexusEQ.com). The 7(th) international NexusEQ conference, the program blends top experts in neuroscience, leadership, and learning to use emotions to spark positive change.
