John Lewis Puts Customers in the Picture as Interactive Window Displays Promote Latest Smart TVs
LONDON, April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Always first with the latest technology, John Lewis is running an exciting campaign
throughout April and May promoting the latest, cutting edge Smart TVs. Interactive window
displays which use augmented reality will be showcased at John Lewis Oxford Street and
Peter Jones from today until the 7 May.
Using Aurasma technologies, these interactive windows allow passers-by to select from
a variety of music and visual schemes that will then play on a nine screen video wall of
Smart TVs. The wall of TVs is activated when a passer-by looks into the window. Once
activated the viewer will see themselves, their surroundings and the pavement around them
appear to crumble. Four pillars will then come out of the ground and they can hover their
hand over the tops of these pillars to interact with the four different visual and sound
schemes.
