Xplenty's Code-free Platform Enables Companies of all Sizes to Utilize their Big Data Without Prior Programming Knowledge
TEL AVIV, Israel, April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
According to a recent survey of 339 data management professionals conducted by SAS and
SourceMedia, two-thirds of the organizations represented collect business consumer data
(b2b), and 59% collect end consumer data (b2c). However in spite of the relatively high
number of companies collecting such data, only 12% of the organizations have developed or
implemented a strategy for their big data.
Madhu Nair of SAS says, "Big enterprises have some budget to explore big data.
Startups are starting off with big data and the cloud. Midsize companies are the ones that
are not able to get started as quickly. The costs are higher for skills and they still
don't have personnel to execute on a big data strategy."
With backgrounds in data and business intelligence, the founders of Xplenty created a
platform to make big data accessible to all businesses. With their combination of business
intelligence and programming experience, they developed a code-free Hadoop as a service
Big Data platform specifically geared towards Data Warehousing specialists, BI Developers,
and ETL developers of companies regardless of size and availability of resources. Saggi
Neumann, CTO of Xplenty, says, "We built Xplenty to be a smart and cost-effective Hadoop
platform, able to accommodate anyone's Big Data processing needs using intelligent
automation and an easy to use interface."
Hadoop is a robust file system that easily handles mass amount of data, of various
forms and structures, on which the Xplenty platform runs.
"We knew that there was an entire sector of the business community that was being left
out of the Big Data game, but we also knew it didn't have to be that way," says Yaniv Mor,
CEO. "We've removed the barriers to entry by making a code-free, cost effective Hadoop
powered platform as a service. Now everyone can play the Big Data game."
Xplenty's platform lets the user manipulate their data in a code-free and highly
scalable cloud based environment, thus eliminating the need for a programmer, as well as
the need to purchase hardware to host business software. Xplenty also takes care of the
maintenance as well, so the customers can focus on their data.
