Teleplan Marks 30th Anniversary by Celebrating its Customers
SCHIPHOL/AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands, April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Teleplan, one of the leading after-market service providers, celebrates its 30th
anniversary this year. Teleplan is focusing the celebration of this milestone corporate
anniversary on its customers, by organizing special supply chain conferences and
innovation site tours aimed at increasing customers' knowledge and efficiencies in the
fast changing electronics device after market.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Teleplan is one of the leading and independent
global providers of integrated end-to-end after-market services for the electronics
devices. Teleplan's lifecycle care and service portfolio ranges from computers and
communications to consumer electronics, from simple repairs to the most sophisticated
technological and electronic solutions. Over the past 30 years, Teleplan has serviced
millions of electronic devices and has cut turnaround times in half while significantly
increasing the satisfaction and brand loyalty of its customers.
"We've come a long way in 30 years," says Gotthard Haug, CEO at Teleplan. "Where we
once provided a traditional repair service, Teleplan now helps its customers generate
additional revenue through extraordinary service that resolves device issues quickly and
with the least inconvenience to the customer. We use best practices that have evolved
throughout three decades of experience to set new standards of excellence." Nowadays,
Teleplan operates from 21 sites in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia with
approximately 5,300 employees, with 2012 revenue exceeding EUR 320 million.
Always an innovator, Teleplan recognized at an early stage the need to push services
closer to the consumer across a number of points of contact, in order to save time and
prevent cost-intensive repair. "Our ongoing success in a highly competitive space begins
with listening to customers and then having the flexibility and technical expertise to
adapt not only to broad trends, but also to specific needs of individual clients," says
Haug. "Our service solutions promise is to 'make your customers smile.' Now we have the
benefit of leveraging 30 years of global experience to deliver ever more sophisticated
solutions."
Founded in 1983 by German IT engineer Edmund Krix and his partner Hans Oosterwaal in
Griesheim, Germany, the company expanded mainly in Europe for the first 15 years. In 1998,
Teleplan was established and registered as Teleplan International N.V. with headquarters
in the Netherlands. An IPO on the German Stock Exchange in Frankfurt followed. The
company's global footprint then began expanding rapidly to North America and the Asia
Pacific region.
A key milestone was the 2003 takeover of the internal repair services of the leading
Dutch mobile operator. Teleplan quickly leveraged its expertise in the fast-growing mobile
industry to provide end-to-end after-market service solutions to leading mobile operators
and manufacturers across the globe. Teleplan holds service and repair licences for all
leading mobile and smartphone brands worldwide. Global growth continues under the
ownership of leading private equity investor Gilde, which acquired Teleplan in 2010. "In
mobile communications, our knowledge and expertise result in direct repair avoidance for
over 75% of smart phone customers," says Gotthard Haug.
