The DrMOS family is Fairchild's next-generation, fully optimized and ultra-compact
integrated MOSFET-plus-driver power-stage solution for high-current high-frequency
synchronous buck DC-DC applications. The FDMF6820C
[http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/dc-dc-converters/7729152 ], for example, integrates a driver
IC, two power MOSFETs and a bootstrap Schottky diode into a thermally enhanced
ultra-compact 6x6mm PQFN package.
The seven new devices, which include the FDMF6820A/B/C, FDMF6823A/B/C and FDMF6833C,
implement Fairchild's proprietary and patented PowerTrench(TM) MOSFET technology

. PowerTrench technology provides clean switching and minimal ringing, and
significantly reduces the need for external snubber circuit components in most buck
converter applications.
Key applications for the modules include: high-performance gaming motherboards;
compact Blade Servers; desktop computers; workstations; high-current DC-DC point-of-load
converters; networking and telecom microprocessor voltage regulators; and small
form-factor voltage regulator modules.
RS currently holds inventory of approximately 1900 Fairchild parts and has recently
added more than 300 new products, all available from stock for same-day despatch.
