Media Alert: Sony Upgrades Action Cam Features And Expands Line Of Accessories
Record in 1080/60p and Use the Action Cam for Virtually Anything with its New Mount Offerings
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - April 29, 2013 - Sony today announced a software update to its wearable point-of-view video camera, allowing Action Cam owners to achieve 1080/60p recording and more. In addition to enhancing the camera's high performance features, Sony is rolling out a variety of new mounts that will open up the possibilities for this powerful yet compact POV cam.
Action Cam Firmware Updates
Owners of the HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 can now update their gear with the latest software enhancement by simply accessing a free download at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/. The new features include:
-- PS Recording Mode (1920x1080/60p)*: Allowing users to shoot smoother
video of fast moving scenes with a higher frame rate.
-- Water Scene Selection: Makes video capture underwater even clearer than
before with new "water mode" enabling white balance adjustment.
-- Beep Off Setting: For those who prefer to film and control their POV
footage in a quiet zone, the camera is now able to adjust sound levels
for the on/record trigger and settings buttons.
-- PlayMemories Mobile Seamless Mode Change**(available in June): Allows
seamless, quicker upload of video content when using the Smart Remote
function. Just connect the Action Cam to a compatible smartphone or
tablet using the built-in Wi-Fi(®) to utilize the Smart Remote and
after filming, upload the footage directly to social channels via
PlayMemories Mobile without having to disconnect.
New Action Cam Accessories
Not only will Action Cam fans be able to utilize all of the above new features, the fresh batch of mounting solutions is sure to please videographers of all types.
