Raritan to Speak on DCIM and Energy Management Trends at AFCOM's Data Center World

- dcTrack 3.0 DCIM Software Shown for First Time; Raritan adds new partner to its energy management ecosystem -

SOMERSET, N.J., April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Raritan, a leading provider of power monitoring and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions, will be speaking at AFCOM's Data Center World this week on the latest trends and technologies to better manage data centers.

Raritan's presentations will explore how DCIM solutions help simplify the management of complex data center infrastructures by focusing on the physical and asset-level components and related resources, including space, energy and capacity.  Raritan also will be speaking on how smart racks -- instrumented to monitor energy, temperature and adds/moves/changes -- minimize the costs of managing data centers, and on best practices for delivering efficient and reliable power.

In other related news at the conference, Raritan partner Subzero Engineering announced today that their enclosures and other offerings will be equipped with Raritan's intelligent rack power distribution units, which measure actual power consumption using kWh and other metrics.

Raritan's dcTrack 3.0, announced last month, will be shown at the conference in Booth #835.  Recognized as a top DCIM solution, dcTrack helps data centers clearly visualize infrastructure resources, keep accurate track of data center assets, improve asset "change, move and add" processes, and find infrastructure capacity to expand the life of a data center.

In addition to dcTrack, Raritan will be showing other smart solutions, including PowerIQ® energy management software, intelligent rack PDUs, smart electronic asset-tracking solution and other solutions designed to help manage data centers resources efficiently and smartly.

Raritan speakers at AFCOM:

Deploying High Power at the Rack
Presented by: David Wood, Raritan Director- Power Business
Tuesday, April 30, 8:15-9:15 am, Palm D, Session PIS14.

High-power requirements for data centers include racks filled with 1U "pizza box" servers or multiple blade server chassis in one rack.  Network storage devices can also drive high demand for power.  This presentation will examine how to determine and design for peak actual power demand and the most efficient and reliable approaches for delivering power, especially when deploying blade servers.

New Way Forward with DCIM - Full Power Chain and Network Connection Management
Presented by: James Cerwinski, Raritan Software Director
Wednesday, May 1, 10-11 am, Banyan CD, Session FM4.1.

Today's data centers are more dynamic, have higher power density, and are more complex, yet managers are being tasked with improving uptime and capacity utilization simultaneously.  An endless stream of solutions is available to achieve improved capacity utilization and uptime.  However, success can't be achieved without optimum power and network connectivity.  In this session, you will learn about connectivity management, why it is important, and the benefits data center managers will see through implementation of such a solution.
