CollegeHumor Launches BearShark Game on Nintendo 3DS

Comedy Website Marks First-Ever Console Videogame with "BearShark Week"

NEW YORK, May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Groundbreaking comedy brand CollegeHumor is pleased to announce the release of BearShark, a new game created exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system. This is a continued partnership for the two brands, which have previously teamed to create and distribute animated 3D series on Nintendo Video for the Nintendo 3DS system. The BearShark game, inspired by the CollegeHumor Original animated series of the same name, is available for purchase in the Nintendo eShop today.

BearShark, CollegeHumor's first foray into handheld video gaming, is inspired by the six-episode CollegeHumor Original animated series BearShark, which debuted on Nintendo Video for Nintendo 3DS earlier this year, and first originated as an article series on CollegeHumor.com in 2010. The hit series comes to life in the single-player, infinite runner-style game as BearShark players run, jump and swim for their lives as clumsy Steve, racing to infinity through an endless gauntlet on land and sea with a bear and shark tag-team hot on his heels. With characters that look just like their original cartoon counterparts, BearShark features a brand new scoring feature on Nintendo 3DS that keeps count as players use Steve's trademark jump to avoid dangerous obstacles and the diabolical machinations of Bear and Shark-all conceived by CollegeHumor writers.

The release of the BearShark game continues a positive collaboration between Nintendo and CollegeHumor, which previously brought the widely popular and on-going Dinosaur Office and BearShark original series to Nintendo Video. The two are among the most widely-viewed content on Nintendo Video

"This release of the BearShark game is another excellent example of the new and innovative ways we are reaching our audience--wherever they are--as CollegeHumor continues growing as a multi-media, multi-platform studio," says Paul Greenberg, CEO of CollegeHumor Media. "And we're also very lucky to have the chance to keep working with a terrific partner like Nintendo."

"It's great to see new properties break on Nintendo 3DS. CollegeHumor is really embracing the unique entertainment proposition of the Nintendo 3DS platform," says Tony Elison, Nintendo of America's senior director, Network Business. "The game continues the same outrageous fun of the video series that has garnered more than three million views on Nintendo Video in a matter of weeks."

To mark the release of the game, Nintendo will rerun all six episodes of the BearShark series on Nintendo Video beginning today, and on Monday, May 6 CollegeHumor will kickoff "BearShark Week" - rerunning the original "BearShark" cartoons that inspired the Nintendo 3DS video series and game. The BearShark game is available for purchase ($3.99) in the Nintendo eShop. For more information, visit http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/downloads/.
