Life Wireless offers cellphone service in Nevada and Ohio
Leading Lifeline carrier helps low-income Americans stay connected to family, doctors, employers and emergency service providers
COVINGTON, Ga., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Life Wireless is now offering subsidized cellphone service to eligible low-income residents in Nevada and Ohio.
Life Wireless provides phone service through the federal Lifeline program, which was created by Congress in 1985 to ensure that all Americans have access to quality telephone service and the security and opportunities that it affords.
Subscribers are eligible if they take part in a federal assistance program, such as Medicaid or Food Stamps, or meet income eligibility requirements. In Nevada, residents are eligible if they earn up to 175 percent of the federal poverty level. In Ohio, residents are eligible if they earn up to 150 percent of the federal poverty level.
Life Wireless customers receive a basic mobile handset with voicemail, text messaging, call waiting, and other features. Smart phones are not available. Calling plans offer up to 250 minutes a month.
