Hisense Sero 7 Series Tablets Available in the U.S.
Gives Boost to Walmart's Presence in E-commerce Market
QINGDAO, China, May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hisense (http://www.hisense.com) and Walmart jointly announced on May 23(rd) (local New York time) that the Sero 7 series tablets, preinstalled with a package of applications including VUDU and walmart.com, will be immediately available in over 3,300 Walmart stores across the U.S.
This is an important win-win cooperation between Hisense and Walmart, rather than merely a new product release.
Since its expansion into the global e-commerce market in 2000, Walmart has acquired several internet companies in a move to expand its online presence. In addition to the significant investment to acquire Kosmix in 2011 and forming @WalmartLabs, which focuses on internet strategies, Walmart has acquired several social mobile technology firms including Tasty Labs and OneOps as part of its plans to further enhance its e-commerce technologies and its presence on the web.
While Walmart aims to be number one in the mobile desktop sector, Hisense aims to enrich its current assortment of electronic products. The cooperation with Walmart will accelerate the sales pace of Hisense's smart TVs both online and offline.
