D-Link Introduces DOCSIS 3.0 Universal Services Gateway with 802.11AC and Integrated MoCA 2.0
New DOCSIS 3.0 Solution Offers Next-Generation Wireless Technology to Provide Voice, Data and IP-Video Solutions for Cable MSOs
WASHINGTON, June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/-- (The Cable Show, Booth #3324) - D-Link, the cost-effective standards-based unified networking solutions provider for consumers, small and medium-sized businesses and service providers, today introduced the D-Link(®) DCM-7662DM DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway for home and small business networking. The new Gateway integrates future-proofing features, including Dual Band 802.11AC, MoCA 2.0, DOCSIS 3.0, and PacketCable 1.5, to deliver voice, data and video over IP services securely and reliably via a single platform without the hassle of having to drill into walls.
The DCM-7662DM provides wired and wireless connections, real-time HD media streaming, gaming, and maximum Internet bandwidth for users with multiple computers and network-enabled devices running several applications at once. In addition, the DCM-7662DM offers battery back-up and an internal power supply, as well as the industry's highest performance flexibility with a minimum of 8Dx4U bonded streams or an optional 16Dx8U bonded streams supported by Full-Band Capture digital tuning technology.
"The D-Link Universal Services Gateway allows cable MSOs to integrate several revenue-generating services onto one platform and operate them over Wi-Fi with greater simplicity," said Eli Gavra, senior vice president, Service Provider Business Unit, D-Link Systems, Inc. "This new product gives MSOs the ability to provide a consistent user-experience throughout the home, as well as an upgrade path for future revenue streams."
The DCM-7662DM Gateway supports TR-069 to quickly scale and manage deployments, increasing time-to-market for all IP services into the home, and is designed to help MSOs expand revenue streams, reduce truck rolls and minimize the number of deployed devices in the home. Additionally, operation over the Cloud via the mydlink.com portal gives cable MSOs remote visibility to devices within the home or small business to easily operate and quickly troubleshoot when needed.
The DCM-7662DM Gateway provides two NCS or SIP VoIP connections and simultaneous high-speed cable Internet to provide primary-line voice quality without dropped calls, while also supporting all key CLASS features for increased customer control of phone calls. The new Gateway is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports for ultra-fast wired networking, coupled with Wireless 802.11AC/3x3 Concurrent for exceptional wireless range and speed.
The DCM-7662DM joins a family of D-Link DOCSIS 3.0 Universal Services Gateway solutions, including the DCM-704, DCM-702 and DCM-301. Committed to providing cable MSOs with industry-leading home and small business networking equipment, D-Link is showcasing its current cable solutions at The Cable Show in Washington, D.C. June 10-12 (booth #3324), including its DOCSIS family of Gateways, modems and wireless extenders.
