Climate Data and Other new Features make MeteoEarth the Perfect Travel app
INDIANAPOLIS, August 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Climate data and storm trackers are amongst the new features launched on MeteoEarth
for iPad 1.2. The new features, designed for planning travel and watching out for summer
thunderstorms, are released in time for the last few weeks of summer.
The latest version of MeteoEarth for iPad, the stunning app from MeteoGroup that
brings the weather to life on a 3D globe, has been released. In Version 1.2, users can
switch from the normal forecast mode to the climate data mode. This feature includes a
global overview of climatic conditions and users can check the climate for any location
around the world including temperature, water temperature and rainfall throughout the
year, making this the perfect tool when planning to travel.
MeteoEarth for iPad 1.2 also introduces new weather elements. Previously on MeteoEarth
users could see the forecast precipitation but couldn't differentiate between the type of
precipitation, now MeteoEarth shows the difference between rain and snow. The cloud cover
layer has been enhanced with a new lightning feature so that users can track thunderstorms
and a new storm feature enables users to track tropical storms taking place around the
world with information including category, type and wind speed.
A new function on the app now shows precise information for pinpointed locations on
the map, including forecast rainfall, percentage of cloud cover, temperature etc.
