Businesses now use cloud apps to serve a wide range of purposes, from CRM (e.g. Salesforce), to Data and Analysis (e.g. Google Analytics) to Cloud Storage (e.g. Box). As these apps proliferate in the workplace, employees are perpetuating the trend of "Shadow IT" by using unsanctioned cloud apps, making it very difficult for IT to manage and secure these apps.
