Samsung Canada unveils Samsung Galaxy Team and encourages Canadiansto support our athletes by sending Notes From Home
TORONTO, Oct. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Samsung Electronics Canada is proud to
unveil the #BringItHome Olympic campaign which will bring together the
Samsung Galaxy Team athletes and Canadians through a unique Notes from Home activation. Designed to bring the spirit of home field advantage to the
Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the campaign will deliver national
pride, motivation and support to Canadian athletes directly from
Canada's communities, fans and families as they strive to achieve gold.
"The goal of Samsung's Olympic partnership is to heighten national pride
from coast-to-coast," said James Politeski, President of Samsung
Canada. "We know that the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be the
most mobile games to date. Fans will be calling, texting, watching and
sharing Olympic Games stories on Samsung devices while following the
athletes every move; through our Notes From Home program, thousands of personal messages from Canadians will be
supporting our athletes as they represent Canada."
Samsung Galaxy Team
Talented and experienced, Samsung is proud to partner with five top
Canadian athletes. The athletes represent Canada in the most popular
winter sports and are already household names in many parts of the
country. In addition to being Samsung brand ambassadors, the athletes
will be engaging with Canadians through the Notes from Home program.
Samsung Galaxy Team athletes are:
-- Steven Stamkos, Men's Ice Hockey
-- Hayley Wickenheiser, Women's Ice Hockey
-- Greg Westlake, Men's Ice Sledge Hockey
-- Marie-Eve Drolet, Women's Short Track Speed Skating

Samsung has committed to sponsoring Steven, Hayley, Greg, Marie-Eve and
Michael. This support will go a long way in ensuring our exceptional
Canadian athletes continue to pursue their Olympic dreams."
Notes From Home
As a proud Global Olympic sponsor in the mobile communications category,
Notes from Home leverages Samsung's Galaxy smartphones and tablets to allow Canadians
to support and encourage our athletes as they prepare and compete for
gold in Sochi by sending Notes from Home.
As part of the #BringItHome program, Samsung Notes will be touring the
country with Samsung brand ambassadors leading up to and during the
Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, allowing Canadians from all corners of
our country to send personal messages to our athletes. From the
amateur coaches that gave our athletes their start in sport to everyday
Canadians in cities and towns across Canada - Samsung is encouraging
all Canadians to cheer on our athletes by sending them a Note From Home.
An Olympic sponsor since the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games and Worldwide
Olympic Partner since the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games, Samsung is
committed to the Olympic Movement and supporting amateur sport. In
Canada, Samsung is also a partner of the national short track speed
skating program and Hockey Canada.
The Samsung Digital Olympic Games Hub
To capture and share these unique Notes From Home, Samsung is creating
an online digital hub that will provide Canadians with interesting
details about the Olympic athletes and how Canadians are celebrating
our athletes' success. The Hub, available at http://www.samsung.com/bringithome, will be the meeting place for Canadians looking for content on
Canadian athletes during Sochi 2014 and is accessible on multiple
platforms.
Samsung Mobilers - Canadian Pride On Location
As an extension of the Notes from Home program, Samsung is also looking to recruit select Canadians to travel
to Sochi and share their Olympic Games experience while they cheer on
our athletes. The Samsung Mobilers Program will provide Canadians with a unique perspective on Sochi 2014
through exclusive and behind-the scenes content. In the months ahead,
Canadians will have the opportunity to demonstrate why they should be
selected to represent Canada as a Samsung Mobiler in Sochi. To learn more about the program, please visit http://www.samsungmobilers.ca.
