Comcraft Announces New, High Density Tap Appliance Optimized for 40G-SR4 Networks

ECKBOLSHEIM, France, Feb. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcraft's new F8MY-SR4 tap (http://profitap.com/fiber-121) is an ideal solution for 40 gigabit fiber optic networks, such as those found in data centers and enterprise-level network architectures. This newest tap brings together a host of compelling advantages, all derived from the company's broad industry experience. The F8MY-SR4 joins the company's stellar catalog of network taps, which represents the most complete and innovative lineup of single to 24-port fiber optic taps.

"We have 25 years' experience working in this industry and seeing the remarkable advances in networking technology firsthand," explained Comcraft's Laurent Schirck. "Our in-line products are used around the world to deliver straightforward and affordable network monitoring without introducing errors or failures. With the F8MY-SR4, we've brought that same high standard for performance and reliability to 40G-SR4 networks, keeping Comcraft at the leading edge of the technology."

As a connectivity product, the new F8MY-SR4 tap can be deployed with packet flow switches, security tools and consolidating tools; practical applications include network monitoring and protocol analysis. Network and data professionals can parse any information necessary from the network stream for a variety of data analyses.

Comcraft's newest addition to its line of network taps builds on past success, while also prizing innovation and allowing for more than adequate versatility. The F8MY-SR4 is an in-line product, enabling quiet monitoring of all network traffic. More importantly, Comcraft fiber optic taps are passive, non-powered devices that introduce no errors into the stream and are never a point of failure.

Quality and stability are the hallmarks of Comcraft products, and the newest model of network tap is no exception. Made of the highest quality components, the F8MY-SR4 pushes the density limit for this class of network appliance.

Comcraft has ambitious plans for continued innovation in the network hardware space. The company has achieved a worldwide reputation for delivering security, monitoring and testing capacities that meet the demands of enterprise and data center customers. In the near future, Comcraft plans to develop a 100G-SR10 fiber optic tap that will signal the opening of the next frontier in traffic density and hardware reliability.

Under the Profitap label, Comcraft also manufactures taps for copper lines and industrial networks. All products are protected by a two-year warranty against defects in material or workmanship.
