Daymond John's Moguls Mobile Seeks Ideas from College Entrepreneurs

Mobile Accessory Concepts Entered in RECESS Competition Will Be Eligible to Pitch Shark Tank Star

NEW YORK, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Moguls Mobile, the mobile accessory products company spearheaded by Shark Tank star and investor Daymond John, today announced an opportunity for college entrepreneurs to commercialize their product concepts through the multi-campus 2015 RECESS Music & Ideas Festival and pitch competition that began last Saturday at Emory University. The company will receive a list of all RECESS mobile accessory entries and select one team to win an opportunity to present their product proposal to John for potential development and distribution.

Moguls Mobile joins AEG Live, in the live entertainment category, and Life Is Good, in the social entrepreneurship category, as the three special category partners selected by RECESS organizers to help college entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into reality. The partners' participation will complement the festival's own entrepreneurial judging process, in which winning teams from each campus plus five at-large finalists will be sent to a three-day finale in Los Angeles from May 28-30 to compete for recognition in all categories.

"Entrepreneurship is exploding on campuses today, fueled in part by the highly publicized success of technology companies founded by people barely out of college. Many millennials want to start their own businesses, and they frequently have fresh ideas with substantial revenue potential," John said. "Participating in the RECESS competition gives us an opportunity to tap into these creative young minds, explore ideas for expanding our product portfolio, and support the next generation of entrepreneurs."

Launched in 2014, Moguls Mobile has introduced unique products ranging from gold and platinum mirrored glass smartphone screen protectors to mobile chargers that charge up to three devices simultaneously on the go and locator tags that enable lost mobile devices to be returned to their owners.

Launched in 2013, RECESS is a touring music and ideas festival that includes a speaker series, interactive networking opportunities and music performances as well as a pitch competition designed to encourage college students interested in launching businesses. This year's schedule includes stops at Emory University, Indiana University, Georgetown University, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, UMass Lowell and more through May 1.

"Our goal with the RECESS festival is to provide a channel for college students to fulfill their entrepreneurial ambitions. Adding partners like Moguls Mobile, AEG Live and Life Is Good takes it a step further by giving students a direct path for bringing their ideas to market," said Jack Shannon, Co-Founder of RECESS. "It is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain the ear of some of the most successful companies in the business world."
