Vectone Mobile to Give Refugees in Austria Free Calls, Texts and Data
VIENNA and LONDON, October 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Vectone Mobile [http://www.vectonemobile.at ] is delighted to launch an initiative to
provide free SIM cards with unlimited calls, texts and data for three months to refugees
within Austria.
Vectone Mobile has collaborated with Caritas, a leading non-profit organisation
working closely with the refugees in Austria. More than 5000 free SIM cards with unlimited
minutes, texts and data will be distributed by Caritas in their refugee facilities.
With reference to the initiative of providing free communications aid, Vectone Mobile
CEO Baskaran Allirajah described the move as "helping to restore the basic right of
communication." He further added, "Communication is a right, not a privilege. In the
unimaginably tough conditions that these refugees are facing, a simple phone call might be
all it takes to keep loved ones together."
Bernd Wachter, Secretary General of Caritas Austria expressed, "For people who have
fled war and persecution, in addition to food and housing, the contact with the family
members, relatives and friends is also a basic need. Therefore, we would like to sincerely

The SIM cards will be distributed by Caritas in the emergency shelters and temporary
accommodation as part of the ongoing relief efforts in Austria. With thousands continuing
to enter the country every day, the aid and resources of these organisations have played
an integral part in maintaining the welfare and dignity of the most vulnerable.
Although some refugees own mobile phones, using their mobiles to make calls is almost
