The Broadband World Forum (BBWF), Europe's most important exhibition for the broadband
internet and telecommunications industry, will be held from 20 to 22 October - and intec,
the Germany-based innovation leader for telecommunications measuring instruments for xDSL,
IP and ISDN, will be there. This year as well, intec will exhibit its portfolio of
sophisticated measuring equipment, marketed under the ARGUS brand. With over 25 years of
experience, intec is one of Europe's leading providers of combined telecommunications
measuring technology, specially designed for broad deployment by operators of large
networks. In the best tradition of German-made engineering, these instruments stand out
thanks to their uncompromising performance, flexibility, reliability and versatility.
This year, the spotlight is on the ARGUS 162. This field-proven combi tester is not
only ideal for standard measurement tasks in connection with ADSL/VDSL (including
Vectoring) but also for use on innovative high-speed interfaces like GPON (FTTH). The
flexible application of a range of SFP modules (FTTx) enables triple-play and performance
testing not only via DSL but directly on a broad variety of Ethernet interfaces as well.
Additionally, the ARGUS 162 ADSL and VDSL tester can also be expanded with an LTE scanner.
Particularly when used in conjunction with the cable multimeter expansion ARGUS Copper Box,
the ARGUS 162 reveals its full performance capability: the tester executes copper tests
(Cu tests) to measure line quality and detect cabling faults. Additionally, the ARGUS 162
can be configured as a Wi-Fi access point for in-house use, enabling e.g. customer mobile
devices to access the commissioned copper or fibre optic broadband interface via the test
instrument.
