Next Galaxy Introduces Virtual Reality to Miami Dade College
Largest College in the Country to Lead the Nation in Virtual Reality Training
MIAMI BEACH, Florida, October 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Next Galaxy Corp. (OTC Pink: NXGA), a leading developer of innovative content
solutions and fully immersive consumer virtual reality, has teamed up with Miami Dade
College to offer an "Introduction to Virtual Reality" course at its Miami Animation and
Game International Complex - or "MAGIC" for short. MAGIC is a state of the art interactive
learning facility for students to learn to create anything animated -video games, cartoons
and movies and more.
"We are excited to team up with Next Galaxy to bring a hands on program in Virtual
Reality to the community," said MAGIC chairperson Mauricio Ferrazza. "We actually put
together this facility as if it were a real animation studio. MAGIC is giving students the
chance to take part in something that the state has been lacking for quite some time. MDC
is the only public college in the state with this kind of facility and program. The
animation industry has been spilling out to other industries: architecture, forensic,
medical, product design. They're all using these technologies for their indicators so we
really saw a demand in the work force."
As part of the introductory course, students will receive Next Galaxy's VR package
featuring its Ceek 4D Audio Headphones and controller, as well as a VR Headset. The
partnership creates an opportunity for students to learn to build content designed for the
burgeoning Virtual Reality market, as well as for Next Galaxy to create a network of
trained professionals to work on future projects and also produce ongoing sales of NGC's
VR Package.
Next Galaxy will also provide an in-studio experience for the VR program, where
students get to learn about VR through in-classroom instruction and hands on projects
learning to make 360 videos, 3D immersive Audio, Computer Generated VR Environments and
other VR formats for a variety of industries.
Said Mary Spio, President of Next Galaxy: "Virtual reality is about to take off in a
way that I don't think anybody can fully comprehend. We're totally convinced of the role
Virtual Reality will play in most aspects of education, commerce, entertainment and
training of all kinds in the future. We are extremely pleased to be a leader in the
development of the tools and help young people play an active role in what is probably the
biggest development ever."
Miami Dade College ("MDC") is the largest and most diverse college in the nation with
more than 165,000 students from across the world. The university recently unveiled the
Miami Animation and Game International Complex, a state of the art interactive learning
building for students who want to major in animation and game development. In its
tradition as a leader in education, MDC is adding Virtual Reality to its curriculum.
Mary Spio, President of Next Galaxy has been instrumental in guiding the MDC
management in developing its virtual reality curriculum. A few months ago, Mary Spio
presented at MDC North Campus' convocation where 500 educators were present and discussed
opportunities for integrating virtual reality into standard classroom curriculum and
remote learning.
"The industry is huge and there is such a need of talent, of people who have that
blend of artistic and tech savvy education as well as hands on experience. It's rare to
get that out of a student and this program is set up to give people that background," said
Leah Hoyer, studio director for ArenaNet.
