Introducing the revolutionary new Q2 Smart Locker: dry cleaning for people who don't
have the time for dry cleaning
Imagine a dry cleaning service that picks up and delivers your clothes from dozens of
locations. A service you manage online. A service that's safe, secure and available 24
hours a day.
Well that service recently became available. On 10 October 2015 the Q2 Smart Locker
dry cleaning service officially launched in London, expanding its reach to over 100
locations across the city by May next year - and to other cities soon after. Q2 will
combine the power of the Internet with a new approach to an essential service. The result?
A fast, convenient, quality cleaning service that customers can manage without ever
visiting a shop.
Q2 (the name stands for Quick and Quality) will install specially designed,
multi-compartment lockers at strategic locations such as stations and supermarkets.
Customers can register for the service by phone or online using an easy-to-understand
ordering process. They then receive a password that they can use to open the locker and
insert their dry cleaning.
Once the cleaning is secure, the networked locker reports that a collection is
required. The laundry is picked up, and taken to the Q2 dry cleaning centre in East
London. It is inventoried and cleaned by trained Q2 staff. All traditional dry cleaning
services are offered, including specialist services for delicate or unusual items. Once
your laundry is ready it is returned to the locker you delivered it to - all within eight
hours. You can pay online by phone, tablet or PC - or even set up a prepaid account for
long term, regular use.
Each locker contains ten compartments, and is accessible 24 hours a day. The networked
system ensures that no compartment is occupied for more than 30 minutes. For added
security each locker is constantly monitored by CCTV.
This is the first time in the UK that a traditional service of this kind has been
combined with the Internet and extended across such a vast area through unmanned
collection points. It offers an ideal solution for busy Londoners who require a reliable
cleaning service but cannot find the time to get to a dry cleaner's.
