Big Cloud Analytics Announces Solution to Bring Real-Time Analytics and Basis wearable devices from Intel to the Internet of Things (IoT)
Solutions use Intel's Basis Peak(TM) fitness and sleep tracker and Big Cloud Analytics Population Health Analytics software to help insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and corporations apply big data learnings to improve healthcare and employee wellness.
ATLANTA, Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Cloud Analytics, Inc. (BCA), a leading provider of real-time analytics technology, announces its collaboration with Intel(TM) to bring Wearables & Real-Time Analytics to the Internet of Things (IoT). The solution leverages Intel's Basis Peak(TM) fitness, sleep and wellness data and BCA's analytic software to provide better business intelligence and analytics surrounding an individual and population health. The Basis Peak is one of the most robust fitness and sleep trackers, generating over 72,000 data points per day for the wearer, including activity and sleep but also heart rate, perspiration and temperature. Big Cloud Analytics software is able to ingest the data in real time for large populations of hundreds and up to millions of users, then array the data in easy to understand dashboards for any number of users such as Actuaries, HR & Wellness professionals, and Scientists conducting Clinical trials, as well as an individual level dashboard views that allows individuals or employees to get a better view into their own health. The software also creates unique analytics based upon the large amount of contextual data generated by wearable devices, which provide deeper understanding of a population and also can signal early warning signs of wellness challenges, detect biometric changes in the wearer of the device and predict bio-age, gender and Body Mass Index (BMI) of the wearer. Clinical data, exogenous and social can also be incorporated.
The collaboration between Intel & BCA has been built over many months, and has resulted in an integration between the Basis Peak tracker, the Big Data it creates and the software platform, designed specifically to ingest all types of data streams and perform Real-Time analytics, allowing for fast and easy implementation for pilot projects. Early customers include life insurers, healthcare insurers, pharmaceutical firms looking to improve clinical trials, and large corporations looking to better understand and improve their employee's wellness and fitness. Both Intel and BCA continue to push innovation, generating new and innovative analytic scores and insights. The Big Cloud Analytics roadmap includes data science that can detect, drug and alcohol use signatures, and stress level in wearers.
"BCA is proud to be on the leading edge of bringing to life the potential of wearable devices to revolutionize healthcare forever," says J. Patrick Bewley, CEO, Big Cloud Analytics. "This solution extends our strong relationship with Intel and creates the opportunity to use Big Data streams from both consumer and medical devices to perform innovative analytics and create new and valuable use cases for the industry."
The solution is in market now and is being deployed around the globe. This Partnership represents a strong step in operationalizing the power of sensors, wearables and other data throughout the entire fitness and wellness ecosystem.
"Intel is pleased to announce the collaboration between our Healthcare IoT group and Basis team to work with BCA to bring best in class fitness and sleep tracking and analytics to drive the revolution currently taking place in consumer health and wellness," says Jef Holove, General Manager of Basis. "The breadth, volume and consistency of the data along with its everyday wearability makes the Basis Peak the top fitness and sleep tracker for the next generation of analytics and insights."
