Huawei Unveils OceanStor Flash Memory Strategy, Stepping into the Era of All-Flash Storage
Showcasing the Latest Flash Storage Solutions For the First Time in Singapore
SINGAPORE, Oc. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei today announced its OceanStor flash memory strategy, which will widen the adoption of flash memory in data centers, ushering customers into the era of reliable and high performance all-flash data centers. The company is introducing its latest products and solutions at Cloud Expo Asia 2015, held at Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore from 28 October to 29 October 2015.
As part of this strategy, Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Micron at the Huawei Cloud Congress 2015. The collaboration will see Huawei providing industry-leading flash storage solutions for high-density and Big Data storage systems while continuing to explore best practices in flash technologies. Additionally, Huawei will work with other partners within the industry chain to innovate flash controllers, media chips, and enterprise storage systems.

With a similar price point to 15K rpm Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disks, Solid-State Drive (SSD) disks bring more benefits for customers with the same budget and improve critical service performance by five times, while effectively mitigating environmental impacts on disks. Huawei has been integrating SSDs into its storage offerings at the start of September 2015 to better serve its customers worldwide.
