Irish Duo Kickstarting ZompireWolf
LONDON, November 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Derek Dillon and Ralph Hosford, are the creative duo that form DurtBird games. It is
now time to unveil their combined creative talents, which is a hybrid of a Zombie, Vampire
and Werewolf - Zompirewolf, a stunning, fast paced, endless running mobile game.
Derek Dillon has spent 10 years as a Writer, Producer and Director for some of
Ireland's biggest comedy TV shows, such as the Republic of Telly and, The Fear.
Ralph Hosford has spent the last 10 years as a web developer creating interactive
games and applications for clients such as U2, The Cranberries, Stephen Pearce Pottery and
Hugo Boss Sailing. He also has developed his own iOS and Android mobile apps.
"A ZompireWolf? I'm in!" Ralph recalls Derek's pitch. "He was only about one sentence
in. I could see everything. The character, the game, the cartoon... everything!"
The duo need at least EUR15,000 to develop ZompireWolf and have launched the project
on Kickstarter to crowd fund.
ZompireWolf is part Zombie, part Vampire, part Werewolf... and all trouble! The
greatest monster ever! One of the most unique features of the game is that during gameplay,
you can jump between the three character traits depending on the trouble coming your way!
Change to the Zombie and he is almost unkillable. As the Vampire he can take to the sky.
Any obstacles in his path can be destroyed by changing to be the Werewolf! This opens the
game up to be a unique experience every time it's played.
A bespoke soundtrack has been created for each different character and world by Johnny
Moy (U2, David Holmes production credits) and Phil Byrne (RTE). This really brings
Zompirewolf to life and keeps the energy of the game up!
Another cool feature will be that it can be played in 'Junior' mode, where characters
are harder to kill, gameplay is slower and there is a lot less gore.
Their lead animator has worked on movies such as Frozen and Wreck-it-Ralph so it's not
hard to see why they are dreaming big!
