Meetings are more valuable and collaborative with Ricoh's latest 65-inch interactive flat panel display
Enterprises can manage information in real time with the touch of a finger, and save on travel time and costs through use of remote meeting features
MALVERN, Pa., Jan. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh today introduced its latest solution for enterprises and organizations seeking new ways to add value and collaboration to meetings while reducing their need to travel. The new RICOH Interactive Whiteboard D6500 features a 65-inch HD TouchPanel display and a bevy of collaboration features that are ideal for larger meetings across multiple locations. Users can easily manage, mark up and share documents and other content during meetings whether using their finger, the optional pen, or the intuitive tablet app, enabling them to more quickly and effectively manage and transform dynamic content.
As the demand to get more done in meetings increases, Ricoh's new interactive flat panel display (IFPD) is a powerful tool to make meetings more productive. The RICOH D6500 expands Ricoh's product line, building on the collaboration features of the current RICOH D5510, and can host up to 400 attendees via 20 connected IFPDs and 20 connected devices - including laptops, tablets, and projectors. Using the RICOH IWB app for iPad, attendees can participate in a remote meeting session that is being held on the RICOH D6500, along with viewing, drawing, erasing, adding and switching pages of the remote display from an iPad. Its interactive LCD flat panel display supports HD resolution of up to 1,920 x 1,080 for more vivid, in-depth sharing of detailed content.
Users also have a choice of two models of the device. The RICOH D6500 TouchPanel can be used as a simple touch screen monitor displaying images from whichever AV device is connected and touch screen control is enabled via USB. The RICOH D6500 TouchPanel (Business Edition) is pre-configured with a controller that comes preloaded with Ricoh's versatile software for multi-touch finger control, document annotation, page drawing, remote collaboration, and information sharing and saving tools required by business customers.
"Meetings are a crucial part of the typical organization, yet are often unproductive due to limits on collaboration and sharing information," said John Brophy, Vice President, Product Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "Users of our latest interactive flat panel display can add a new, visual, more valuable dimension to their meetings by collaborating on ideas and sharing them seamlessly. These rich features not only unlock the power of information, but they can also save time spent traveling to attend meetings in person."
Additional features that support more productive meetings include:
-- Additional value to meetings with seamlessly interactive collaboration:
Finger/touch writing frees users from the need to write with a pen. For
those instances where more precise handwriting is needed, such as
architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and pharmaceutical
applications, the optional Pen Sensor Kit enables collaboration on the
finer points.
-- Collaboration without boundaries, and with more information retention:
For meetings that need to be held across multiple locations, the IFPD
allows content to be shared with more visual impact, between multiple
locations via wired or wireless LAN.
-- Secure information sharing: All documents shared via the RICOH D6500 can
be password protected or stored offline to enhance document security.
-- Flexibility in control and operation: The IFPD corresponds with Crestron
systems and provides users with the ability to control operations from
Crestron control. Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) enables
access to the company's corporate email address book to simplify
circulating documents created on the RICOH D6500. HDMI and DVI-D outputs
support ease in sharing content from the device.
The RICOH Interactive Whiteboard D6500 is available now at a suggested retail price of $5,065 for the RICOH D6500 TouchPanel configuration without a controller and $7,585 for the RICOH D6500 TouchPanel (Business Edition) with controller. These optional accessories are also available: stand ($1,275), pen sensor kit ($315), collaboration/remote license ($1,200).
