ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, February 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Oxygen Forensics, the worldwide developer and provider of advanced forensic data
examination tools for mobile devices, announced today that it is releasing Oxygen Forensic
(R) Detective 8.1 which now offers the complete physical collection of locked Samsung
smart devices, as well as the ability to use Oxygen Forensic(R) Maps offline. Â Experts
can now download the offline maps from anywhere in the world, install to Oxygen Forensic(R)
Detective, and immediately use within Oxygen Forensic(R) Maps.
Oxygen Forensic(R) Detective 8.1 provides extra capabilities for Oxygen Forensic(R)
Extractor, Oxygen Forensic(R) Maps and Oxygen Forensic(R) Cloud Extractor. It also
introduces the new Data Scout feature allowing US LE customers to retrieve additional
private data from extracted phone numbers using the Whooster(TM) Number to Name Lookup
Service to gather live subscriber information. This industry first service will bring a
new level of investigation to an examiners mobile device collection.
The new product additions to Oxygen Forensic(R) Detective 8.1 significantly improve
the ability of forensic experts in their daily mobile forensic work. Some important new
features include:
Oxygen Forensic(R) Extractor Â
- Allows customers to create a full physical dump from the supported devices, even
if they are locked with a passcode. Experts can then view complete evidence sets such
as contacts, messages, calls, calendar, photos, videos, files, applications data,
passwords and deleted records.
Oxygen Forensic(R) MapsÂ
- Added the ability to download a map area and use it in offline mode. Forensic
experts can download a particular continent or the entire world and view locations
without an Internet connection.
Oxygen Forensic(R) Cloud ExtractorÂ
- Provides logs for all cloud extractions and now gives experts the ability to:
extract notebook files from OneDrive, extract Google Photos information (photos, geo
coordinates and time stamps), and adds the ability to import a key file to decrypt
encrypted WhatsApp messages extracted from Google Drive.
"I'm proud of our product team who keeps pushing the envelope of what our product can
do by listening to our customers who are asking for specific capabilities," says Lee
Reiber, Oxygen Forensics COO. "Oxygen Forensic Detective is at the forefront of the
forensics industry and we're excited that our product grows along with our customers."
