Maximum PC Joins Forces with PC Gamer to Form a Supercharged Hardware Channel on PCGamer.com

SAN FRANCISCO, March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Future plc, a global leading publisher in gaming and technology, today announced the arrival of Maximum PC branded hardware content on PCGamer.com.

Providing authoritative hardware reviews, in-depth component analysis, and breaking news from the performance PC sector for over two decades, Maximum PC's team of experts provides its passionate audience with advice on how to make informed buying decisions and optimize their PC building experience.

The next step in Maximum PC's evolution will see its website join forces with fellow Future brand PC Gamer to bring its authoritative coverage to an even bigger audience. From the end of March the hardware channel on PC Gamer will be powered by and branded Maximum PC, increasing content fourfold on pcgamer.com/hardware. The combined editorial team will cover PC hardware from every angle on one robust site. From launch expect to find a completely refreshed suite of buyer's guides, PC builds for every budget, and in-depth features on the subjects that matter most to hardware enthusiasts. The print edition of Maximum PC will continue to reach its thousands of loyal subscribers.

Maximum PC Editor-in-Chief Tuan Nguyen said, "Games continue to drive development of cutting-edge PC hardware, with AR and VR set to deepen the relationship. The marriage of Maximum PC and PC Gamer is a natural intersection that will enable us to deliver class-leading gaming and hardware content." PC Gamer Global Editor-in-Chief Tim Clark added, "I'm delighted the Maximum PC team will be leading the charge when it comes to hardware coverage on PCGamer.com. Since we launched our hardware channel in 2014, readers have shown a vast appetite for trusted analysis. This is the chance to be truly comprehensive."

Magazine subscribers will continue to enjoy print versions of both Maximum PC and PC Gamer. Maximum PC online will merge directly into PC Gamer, providing more thorough hardware coverage. Existing visitors to Maximum PC will go directly to PC Gamer's hardware channel.

There's never been a more exciting time to be a PC gamer and PC hardware enthusiast. Last year saw the launch of PC Gamer Pro, a channel dedicated to all aspects of competitive gaming. Future also debuted the PC Gaming Show Powered by PC Gamer at E3, which is confirmed to return in 2016, and will be expanding to Gamescom. Plans are also underway to bring the consumer-focused PC Gamer Weekender series to the US. Bringing the expertise of Maximum PC's editorial team to bear on PC Gamer will ensure the combined site has the needs of PC owners completely covered.  The site has seen exponential 37% year-on-year growth with 10.4 million unique users as of November 2015.
