Designed and developed in the tech-savvy Pittsburgh region, this beautiful, cat-inspired device is poised for manufacture in the U.S.A., bringing all-day wrist comfort and precision to everyone from PC gamers, computer coders and designers to office professionals and internet surfers.
Wristocat gets its unique name from its unmistakable feline appearance and propensity to chase behind your favorite mouse, keyboard or touchpad. Wristocat keeps your wrist aligned and resting comfortably in a specially designed cradle that flexes with your every move and adapts to your work style.
Since undergoing wrist surgery in 2013, company founder Dave Luciew has been working toward a solution that would eliminate the repetitive stress that can harm your wrists.
It was no easy task, requiring more than 100 prototypes to design and perfect the breakthrough that would become the Wristocat.
"We would not settle for anything less than a solution every bit as thoughtful, elegant, functional, and innovative as the other, well designed products we all have on our desks," said Luciew.
Now, all that stands in its way is the start-up capital necessary to get Wristocat's American production lines rolling.
It will require more than $100,000 for Wristocat to make the leap from perfected prototype to mass production. Confident Wristocat can claw out a much-needed market among the many computer-users with overworked wrists, the company launched on Indiegogo on March 13.
"Support for our crowd funding campaign is the first step in bringing Wristocat to the world, ensuring the ultimate vision we have for Wristocat is fully realized. https://igg.me/at/wristocat/
Wristocat is being offered for the first time on Indiegogo starting at $25 for early adopters. From there, Wristocat will be widely available on television and major retail outlets. The product was featured on Pittsburgh's TechVibe radio on March 11 and the Kaleidoscope video magazine on March 13. Links to the crowd funding campaign, broadcasts, and the Wristocat Augmented Reality (AR) mobile app that lets you test drive the product, can be found on wristocat.com.
"I'm excited to see our product in use, helping all those people longing for an ergonomic breakthrough in wrist support. The time is now to support Wristocat, so Wristocat can support you. This cat won't let you down. That I promise you." - Dave Luciew
