Jenn-Air® Black Floating Glass Appliances Offer Sleek Alternative to Stainless Steel

BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Now available in a complete suite of appliances, the black floating glass collection from Jenn-Air offers a sleek and equally versatile option to stainless steel appliances.  Recently, the brand tapped into its Design Advisory Council (DAC) for their insights on incorporating black appliances into the kitchen.  Select members of this accomplished group of design professionals from across the country shared their thoughts on how to incorporate black into the kitchen.

The newly-available full collection includes built-in wall ovens in single, double and combination microwave/wall oven configurations; a cabinet-depth French door refrigerator; electric, gas, and duel-fuel 30-inch slide in ranges; and its high performance dishwashers.  In addition, the brand's collection of low profile canopy and pyramid style hoods feature black glass that pairs with both stainless steel and black floating glass.

1. What design elements do you think pair well with black floating glass?

For a modern kitchen with a professional look the sleek black on black of this beautiful suite would pair well with stainless steel cabinetry.  Other elements that would pair well with this include a graphic quartzite counter top with subtle black lines, chrome hardware and faucets and black and white mosaic flooring.

An alternate option would be to pair these appliances with taupe colored cabinetry and gorgeous marble with graphic white lines.  Polished nickel faucets, matte black hardware and a lovely white oak floor in a natural stain would be a nice complement for this option.

The black floating glass appliances would also pair well with wenge stained quarter cut oak cabinets, stunning Fantasy Brown quartzite, black faucets, chrome hardware and a stone mosaic floor with a very geometrical pattern.    Alexandre Blazys & Benoit Gérard/Blazys Gérard http://www.blazysgerard.com/site/fr/philosophie.html

The clean lines of the black floating glass series of Jenn-Air appliances pair well with warm wood tones for a soft contemporary style statement.  For a more stark look, contrast these appliances with white cabinetry is a good choice.  Mary Jo Peterson/Mary Jo Peterson Design/ http://maryjo-peterson.squarespace.com/

By incorporating black floating glass appliances, especially as an entire suite, you immediately cloak the kitchen in a rich elegance that no other finish offers.  The rest of the elements in the kitchen can contrast or coordinate, but these appliances provide a beautiful backdrop that elevates the room.  Julia Johnston/Kitchens for Cooking/ http://www.houzz.com/pro/kitchensforcooking/kitchens-for-cooking

2.  Would you mix stainless steel with black floating glass appliances?

Absolutely! It will give it that professional yet sleek and modern look. It's very Mies Van der Rohe.Alexandre Blazys & Benoit Gérard/Blazys Gérard

3.  Are you limited to darker hues (dark cabinets, floors, etc.) when using black appliances?

No. Contrasts can be interesting when well balanced and blended. A mix of textures will awaken and enliven the kitchen's personality with loads of elegance. Alexandre Blazys & Benoit Gérard/Blazys Gérard

Although black floating glass appliances are great partnered with warmer and darker wood finishes, they are not limited to these choices. In fact, they can beautifully compliment white cabinetry, in either contemporary or more transitional spaces. Mary Jo Peterson/Mary Jo Peterson Design
