Meizu Launches PRO 6 Smartphone with 3D Press Technology and 10-core Processor
BEIJING, April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Meizu, a leading consumer electronics company and smartphone manufacturer, officially announced the launch of its PRO 6 smartphone at a product release conference in Beijing, China yesterday.
The PRO 6 demonstrates Meizu's breakthrough 3D Press pressure-sensitive display, fingerprint recognition and fast charging. It also features the Flyme 5.5 operating system, an in-depth customization from Android 6.0.
3D Press Technology
By applying 3D Press technology, the PRO 6 can perceive changes of pressure on the screen in real time with tactile vibration feedback and visual changes, and then call the corresponding functions without launching an app. 3D Press not only directly improves operational efficiency, but also introduces more interaction possibilities.
Various popular apps such as WeChat and Alipay have activated the 3D Press function, allowing full use of the app's services without even needing to open it. More apps supporting the 3D Press function will be available in the near future.
The PRO 6 is powered by a brand new flagship processor, Helio X25, which has a revolutionary 10-core 3-cluster architecture and 2.5GHz speed. The Helio X25 3-cluster structure can dynamically switch between modules according to different task requirements. Compared with the traditional dual-cluster architecture processors, the power consumption of the 3-cluster Helio X25 is up to 30% less, thus prolonging battery life.
Together with Mali (TM )T880 GPU, 4GB RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory, the Pro6 can achieve better multitasking performance and game running.
Unique Exterior Design with 5.2-inch 1080P Display
The Pro 6 is just 7.25mm thick and equipped with a 5.2-inch 1080P display. To solve potential signal issues associated with metal phones, it features two -- as opposed to four - antenna strips on the outer shell that allow for a purer, curvier metallic body.
Better User Experience: 0.2-second Unlock, Faster Charging and Upgraded Camera with Faster Focusing
Other upgrades include a new fingerprint sensor with a 0.2-second recognition time and the addition of mCharge 3.0, which will take the Pro 6 battery from empty to full within one hour. The camera has a 10-LED ring flash, while phase-detect autofocus and new image-processing algorithms give the PRO 6 a focusing speed of just 0.07 seconds.
"The PRO 6 reflects Meizu's understanding of luxury smartphones," said Aber Bai, CEO of Meizu Telecom Equipment Co., Ltd. "Combining multiple cutting-edge technologies, the smartphone can satisfy different customer needs, from work efficiency and entertainment to social networking. We believe our users will enjoy this new model very much."
"The PRO 6 is a luxury product with exceptional user experience," commented Li Nan, Meizu Vice President. "It not only shares some of its predecessors' features including our acclaimed industrial design, but also marks Meizu's exploration of technological breakthroughs."
The Meizu PRO 6 comes with 32GB or 64GB of storage and is available with a black, silver or gold aluminum alloy unibody. The international version of the phone will be on sale in Hong Kong, Russia, Israel, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and India.
