Gone are the days of drab PowerPoints unenthusiastically projected behind a presenter. New technology allows In The Event to bring exciting "eye candy" to any event, turning typical presentations into an unforgettable experience.
"It gives them what we call 'eye candy' in the room," explains founder and CEO Robert LaSpina. "It's something to look at, something to see, that's unique and moving and changing colors. It's called pixel mapping, and now we can pixel map to all of our lights and everything we do."
In The Event uses wireless German-based lights, so the new inventory can communicate seamlessly with the products they were already using to enliven events. With their new ChamSys MagicQ MQ80 board, In The Event is in complete control over their lighting, lasers, and foggers.
Of the ChamSys board, LaSpina says, "This board rocks. It's got universes so you can run multiple lights and multiple heads, you control everything off of one console."
Another plus? The board integrates with In The Event's Vectorworks program that let's them design events in a 3D map before taking a single piece of equipment to the venue.
"When we're building shows out, we're putting our lights in our drawings and we're actually turning them on in the drawing and programing them in the drawing," says LaSpina. This means all event managers or presenters have to do is "hit play."
Other technology In The Event purchased includes Rosco foggers and hazers, "The best foggers in the world," says LaSpina, and German Light Products (GLP) moving head lights, moving head consoles, and lasers.
"It's our next step in inventory and types of products that we want to rent out," says LaSpina. "Now we consider ourselves a high-end lighting house."
The demand for these types of technologies is high. When In The Event found themselves renting these items from other companies regularly, they decided to take charge and bring this technology in-house.
Opportunities for innovative lighting technology are endless. Whether a brand wants to display their logo, start up a dance party, or present moving images in crystal-clear clarity, they can with this technology at the helm.
In The Event has already marked themselves as innovators in the local and national event industry with their custom-made LED modular furniture, and this step has only solidified that reputation.
As more innovative companies and ideas move to Utah, In The Event will be ready to catch these creatives and make their ideas come true. But creative potential aside, as LaSpina puts it, this technology is "just really, really cool."
