Videojet Improves Total Cost of Ownership With New Continuous Inkjet Printer

NAVI MUMBAI, India, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

To address the increasing needs of manufacturers to have more predictable ways to
manage maintenance, Videojet Technologies Inc., a global leader in coding, marking and
printing solutions, has introduced a new printer with the all new Long Life Core[TM]
technology. Building on the class-leading availability of the 1000 Series continuous
inkjet (CIJ) printers

additions to the Videojet CIJ portfolio offer an extended life service core, which is
guaranteed to provide five years of operation from the time of installation.

Manufacturing facilities are experiencing growing pressure to streamline production
processes, reduce downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Being able
to predict when equipment will require maintenance is one way to help achieve these goals.
"Like other production equipment, packaging printers require annual maintenance to ensure
peak performance. However, the key advantage of our new CIJ printer with the Long Life
Core(TM) technology is that they offer customers simplified and predictable maintenance as
there is no planned wear part replacement required in the first five years," states
Anthony Blencowe, Global Business Unit Director of Continuous Inkjet for Videojet.

First introduced in 2007, the Videojet modular service core was a breakthrough in CIJ
technology and has been deployed successfully in tens of thousands of customer locations.
Unlike competitive printer designs, the modular service core contains all of the critical
wear parts in one field serviceable module including pump, valves, and filters. Blencowe
explains, "The Videojet Long Life Core[TM] design offers real benefits to the end user. In
addition to reducing the maintenance burden on our customers, the core includes on-board
intelligence for improved printer stability and better print quality." The new Long Life
Core(TM) technology builds on these advantages by extending the life of the core.

Blencowe continues, "The TCO advantages of the new Long Life Core[TM] technology are
clear. Depending on the specific model, a customer running a 12 hour, 6 days per week
operation will see anywhere from a 23% to 44% improvement in core longevity compared to
our earlier 1000 series models."

The new Videojet 1530 CIJ printer

is suitable for a broad range of marking applications and covers a breadth of line
speeds found in today's packaging environments. The advanced code assurance software
mistake-proofs operator inputs and dramatically reduces coding errors; ensuring
manufacturers get the right code on the right product time after time. In addition, the
intuitive touch screen interface provides instant access to on-screen Availability data
and fault information to fix the root cause of downtime quickly and permanently. The new
printers also offer the full range of features and benefits that the packaging industry
has come to enjoy from the Videojet 1000 Series, including CleanFlow[TM] print head
technology and intelligent dynamic calibration software designed to maintain consistent,
high print quality.

Blencowe concluded, "Videojet recognizes that manufacturers are striving to improve
their profitability through minimizing the cost of operation. These new models with the
Long Life Core(TM) technology deliver against this objective. Equally important, the new
CIJ printer provides the benefit of aiding predictable maintenance by eliminating the need
for planned wear part replacement in the first five years of operation."

Videojet is committed to continuous improvement of the product and services to help
customers achieve their operational objectives. As a result, 2016 will see more exciting
innovations in inkjet printing technology to deliver on this promise.
