Experience The Food & Wine Classic In Aspen...At Home

BENTON HARBOR, Mich., June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Not among the fortunate food lovers attending this month's FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen?  No worries, there's still a way to participate in what's widely considered the country's premiere culinary gathering -- recently cited by Adweek as "America's Hottest Festival" -- thanks to an open invitation from FOOD & WINE and longtime sponsor KitchenAid.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, dubbed "Have Dinner with Us," the media brand and appliance maker are inviting their followers to create their own FOOD & WINE Classic experience at home by cooking along with one of the event's headlining chefs. From recipes, tips and technique videos to a Facebook Live stream and ingredient shopping assistance, viewers can create the very same dishes being prepared at the festival in their own kitchen.

Specifically, three recipes for an Aspen-inspired dinner and accompanying technique-driven videos have been created for KitchenAid by FOOD & WINE and Chef Chris Cosentino, best known as winner of Top Chef Masters, a frequent guest on Iron Chef America, and chef/owner of Cockscomb in San Francisco.

"The FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen is such a tremendous source of culinary inspiration and discovery that we wanted to give everyone a chance to participate communally, regardless of geography," notes Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid.  "What better way to make and enjoy a special dinner than being part of an event that's so highly anticipated and celebrated?"

"Have Dinner with Us" videos and other resources will be available online starting June 6 at KitchenAid.com/AspenDinner.  In addition, a Facebook Live stream of Chef Cosentino's "New Style Surf & Turf" cooking demonstration will be hosted on the KitchenAid Facebook page on Friday, June 17(th) from  2:00pm to 2:45pm MT.  To further inspire and encourage home cooks to make his festival recipes at home, questions from followers will be answered in a live Q&A during Chef Cosentino's demo.
