The movie, Warcraft: The Beginning was released in June 2016 at cinema theatres
across the globe. G2A promoted the American epic fantasy movie, originally based on the
Warcraft video game series produced by Blizzard Entertainment, by giving away G2A gift
cards (with a total value of about EUR3 million) to fans of the games in each cinema where
the G2A crew were present. The movie portrays the initial encounters between humans and
the green-skinned orcs from Draenor and takes place in a variety of locations established
in the original video game series.
"G2A as a globally oriented company aims to be global number one by taking care of
each region. That's why we decided that in 9 countries around the world (France, Finland,
Germany, India, Austria, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, and Norway), G2A representatives together
with cosplayers entertained viewers as they waited for one of the most anticipated movie
premieres of 2016," said Dawid Rozek, co-founder and CMO at G2A.COM.
Warcraft, which was published in 2006, has been a very popular game series and the
movie depicts the entire series in just a couple of hours. This was a huge undertaking
since the film was first announced in 2006 as a project partnership between Legendary
Pictures and the game's developer, Blizzard Entertainment, and it's now released almost 10
years later by Universal Pictures in June 2016.
