An upgrade on LiveWatch's entry-level XT control panel, the XTi 1.0 is powered by Interlogix technology and features a complete suite of LiveWatch security services in a slimmed-down package. The XTi 1.0 features a 5-inch touchscreen control panel that replaces the push-button interface of the original XT. The new system also adds two-way voice communication for emergencies, compatibility with image sensors and support for smart home devices.
"We are thrilled to be able to bring increased safety and peace of mind to customers with our latest technological innovation," said LiveWatch founder and president Chris Johnson. "We are confident that families and homeowners will love the accessibility the XTI 1.0 brings to home security."
The LiveWatch XTi 1.0 system communicates wirelessly with all the home security and automation devices in a user's house. When a motion sensor or alarm is triggered on a user's property, the system relays the information to both the user and a central monitoring station, which then calls the police if the user does not report a false alarm. The Xti 1.0 also enables users to view photographs of their property at any time when connected with a LiveWatch image sensor.
The XTi 1.0's 5-inch control panel replaces the button-driven interface of the old XT panel with a simple set of icons and menus, making the security system easy to control for users of all ages. For users who want to remotely operate their lights, thermostats and kitchen appliances from their smartphones, LiveWatch XTi 1.0 has been designed to support a variety of third-party home automation devices. In an emergency, users can communicate with one of LiveWatch's alarm monitoring centers using the XTi's built-in microphone and speaker.
"At LiveWatch our first goal is to treat our customers right," said LiveWatch product manager Kim Elmore. "By upgrading our entry-level panel and making our entire list of services accessible to all users, I'd like to think we're doing just that."
Recently named the best choice for home security by leading technology blog Engadget, LiveWatch was founded in 2002 by a paramedic passionate about keeping families safe. The company specializes in designing technology that helps people live safer and more comfortable lives.
