Plays.tv Launches Video-Based Dota 2 Replay Recorder With Automated Highlights And Timeline Of Key Moments

Clips of Every Kill, Death, Assist, Tower and Barracks Destroyed, Roshan and Courier Kill, and More Are Automatically Created and Tagged

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Plays.tv, the leading gameplay capture and sharing platform, has just released its Automated Highlights integration with Valve Software's Dota 2. This latest game integration automatically records Dota 2 matches and displays the hero played, win/loss, and score for each match.  A match timeline is also created that shows all the key moments from the game, enabling users to jump directly to any moment to watch or share it.  Since Plays.tv records the matches as video, the replays don't break as typical Dota 2 replays do after a game update.

"Plays.tv's Automated Highlights is one of the primary reasons we're the most popular gameplay capture tool for League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, so we're excited to bring the same functionality to Dota 2," said Dennis Fong, founder and CEO of Plays.tv. "Excitement for Dota 2 is heating up as we get closer to The International in August, so this integration is timely and will give the community more content to share and get excited about."

The Dota 2 integration includes:

--  Every Kill, Killstreak, Multi-Kill, Deny, Assist, Death, Suicide, Tower
Destroyed, Barracks Destroyed, Roshan Kill and Courier Kill bookmarked
        on your timeline
--  Match highlights pre-selected and ready to share, with editing tools
--  Automatic tagging for in-game events, heroes, and your Steam name
Plays.tv is the only video highlights platform that has a robust set of features that makes sharing highlights super easy: voice and webcam integration, auto-tagging highlights, friendlist integration & auto-tagging friends, customizable recording settings, visual timeline for editing and highlight reel capability. Just like popular social media platforms, Plays.tv allows players to seamlessly share their best moments through its intuitive interface and easily embeddable video clip-sharing functionality.

More than 12 million gamers already use Plays.tv, from professional esports stars to casual gamers. The rapidly growing community is diverse both geographically and in terms of game tastes; videos from more than 2,800 different games have been posted by users from more than 200 countries worldwide. Plays.tv also boasts a high volume of content creators on the platform, with over 35% of users actively contributing video content on a daily basis.

Additional games featuring the Plays.tv Automated Highlights functionality include Valve's CS:GO and Riot Games' League of Legends, with more game integrations coming later this year.
