KALAMAZOO, Mich., Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Topp Hogg Games, a young upstart in the tabletop gaming community, today announced it would be hosting a prototype event of a new card game on September 17(th), at GrandCon, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The company, which prides itself on developing unique economy-based games, secured a table at this year's event to allow visitors an opportunity to see first-hand the unique and innovative approach to investing concepts presented in a fun, engaging format. This first edition game, "Riches or Ruin - Hogg Wild for Wealth," debuted in 2015 in limited production. The company believes players will appreciate the portfolio management aspects of building wealth in a game format.

"I am excited to introduce GrandCon attendees to a unique, one-of-a-kind financial game," says owner of Topp Hogg Games, Richard Parker. "This card game offers players a variety of assets for creating investment portfolios that generate cash flow, or produce huge profits. The astute player, who wisely adjusts to random economic conditions, just might have what it takes to become the game's 'Topp Hogg.'"

The company began developing a series of economic games in 2009.  By 2014, already numbering five in various stages of development, it was "Riches or Ruin - Hogg Wild for Wealth" that became the best choice to introduce to the gaming community as an educational, but challenging financial card game.

The company implemented a tiered approach to learning the complete game. Four levels of play ease new players into the basic mechanics of investing, as they compete to create the most wealth. As they advance to higher levels, player interaction and random financial events are incorporated into gameplay.

Richard Parker continued, "I wanted to dial-in to GrandCon's electric atmosphere by introducing players to the foundational game, 'Piglet Apprentice.' I believe Riches or Ruin's humorous pig-based theme will complement the excitement generated at such a terrific gaming convention."
