Gaming Surveillance: Innovation that Drives Efficiency
SHEFFIELD, England, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- An intelligently integrated surveillance management solution has the power to optimize casino operations by improving situational awareness - delivering time, resource and cost savings that go beyond the traditional responsibilities and expectations of site security. It also has the power to simplify operator experience and support critical decision making.
It is a message global surveillance business, Synectics, will be emphasizing at this year's Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas, with live demonstrations of its latest innovations in Synergy controllers, workflow management and third party systems integration.
Synergy 3's command and control platform is the centerpiece of Synectics' Integrated Management System solution to be showcased at this year's exposition, and visitors to booth 3235 will have an exclusive preview of the EX300 Advanced Control Suite - Synergy 3's new management interface - in action.
Comprising a touch screen tablet with optionally integrated jog shuttle, keyboard and joystick, the EX300 utilizes customizable, modular software to improve incident management and operational efficiency, by empowering users to quickly and easily identify, prioritize and execute the functions they use most within Synergy 3.
John Katnic, Vice President of Global Gaming at Synectics, said: "A key benefit of Synergy 3 has always been enabling users to perform highly complex, repetitive queries, analysis and alarm management tasks with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. With the EX300, Synectics now offers a contemporary hardware/software solution for today's surveillance operators that are more comfortable and productive using gesture based, touchscreen navigation like they have on their phones and tablets.
"While a surveillance operator will typically require and prefer the optional modular joystick and keypad, security users or F&B auditors could use a finger and tablet touchscreen only to control cameras with a much smaller footprint. With the customizable software-based EX300 controller, it is also easier for users to individualize their user interface to process alarms, do camera tours, or any other commonly used function."
Earlier this year, Synectics also announced a Synergy 3 update with enhanced incident management, workflow and resiliency features, as well as new metadata recording, statistical reporting and data mining tools, including quick viewing POS data - a key feature for the gaming sector. These new features will be demonstrated throughout the show using real life scenarios that surveillance operators encounter during a typical shift.
Synectics will be also be exhibiting its latest range of HD IP cameras, network based encoders and alarm management devices at the conference. True to its name and 30-year commitment to open platform technology, however, the global surveillance business will also highlight its ever-expanding integration library of third-party cameras, encoders, DVRs, alarm and gaming systems.
John continued: "Synergy 3's open software architecture gives casino operators the flexibility to integrate with pre-existing or future technologies that protect their investment and makes their lives simpler. In many cases, this includes the ability to utilize legacy third party encoders, cameras, matrices and storage systems from industry-leading suppliers such as Honeywell, Pelco, Dallmeier and Bosch, while still taking advantage of Synergy 3's advanced alarm integration, GUI customization, and incident management functionality. We are constantly evolving our solutions to work with leading gaming and security technology providers to ensure compatibility and seamless integration.
"We've practiced this customer-driven development approach for over 30 years. We take time to understand unique operational and technical needs, so that we can devise creative ways to solve problems, rapidly develop and test improvements, and deploy working solutions quickly. Our willingness to listen, adapt and deliver solutions that address specific customer needs makes all the difference and sets us apart.
"In fact, a number of the integrations and software developments we'll be talking about at the show originated in this way. For example, our ONVIF-certified M100 VGA and HDMI encoder, that records on-screen data from a variety of devices, including operator review stations and slot machine screens, was driven by specific project requests from our largest clients.
"Sometimes the simplest of things have the biggest impact. For example, even though H.264 (MPEG-4) and H.265 are the primary video compression standards now used, we've also adapted our software to support MPEG-2 encoding since many of our customers' legacy devices still utilize this protocol. It's a pragmatic, customer-sensitive approach which ensures our clients can maximize their existing infrastructure while cost effectively transitioning to newer technology."
Synectics' commitment to integration and innovation have helped secure a number of high profile gaming contracts in 2016 - all with Synergy 3 at their core - including a multi-million dollar 6,000-channel project in Manila, a 5,000+ channel premier resort on the Las Vegas Strip and two next generation Asia-Pacific mega cruise ships.
The business' end-to-end integrated security and surveillance solutions now monitor and manage more than 100,000 channels in over 100 of the largest, busiest and most tightly regulated casinos in Asia, North America and Europe.
