Clarion Launches Two New Gauge Hole Style Multimedia Source Units
Designed to fit the standard gauge hole opening, Clarion introduces the all new feature-packed GR10BT audio system along with the versatile two-piece CMS3 marine-grade audio source unit
CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in consumer and commercial mobile electronics, today announced the expansion of their award-winning line of purpose-built marine-grade audio products with the introduction of two new multimedia source units. The two-piece CMS3 model features a choice of two commanders and a feature-rich black box processor unit, while the all new GR10BT mechless system offers premium features and performance in an all-inclusive compact form factor, designed to fit in a standard three-inch gauge hole instrument panel opening. Both new Clarion marine-grade source units offer greater flexibility to boat builders and boat owners alike who want durable, feature-rich audio systems, that maintain a streamlined instrument panel.
The GR10BT from Clarion is a full-featured one-piece gauge hole style multimedia source unit featuring a sleek brushed metal look, and robust connectivity options. The GR10BT is an ideal solution for boaters looking to get big sound from a sleek, compact package. The GR10BT is powerful, offering up to 180 watts (45w x 4 at 4ohm) of peak power, and rugged, with an iPX5 water resistant rated faceplate. With a chassis measuring three-inches in diameter, the GR10BT features an impressive list of music source options, including a Global AM/FM/Weather Band tuner, Bluetooth music streaming, MP3/WMA USB file playback and a standard RCA audio input. The unit additionally features four-channel (F2ch+R2ch/Sub) 2V RCA pre-amp outputs for adding amplifiers to the system.
The CMS3 from Clarion is a marine-grade digital media hub designed specifically for extreme duty in harsh environments. Featuring a compact Black Box processor unit that can be hidden away, the CMS3 is available with two distinctly different weather-proof commander controller design options. Available with a round gauge hole style controller or a rectangular design, either commander can be mounted unobtrusively in any available three-inch gauge hole opening in the instrument panel or installed inside the cabin, on the bridge, or anywhere else on the boat. The system features the essentials, including iPod®/iPhone® connectivity, Bluetooth with aptX music streaming, and a global AM/FM/Weather Band tuner, as well as offers a wide variety of connection options including SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, AUX input and USB audio, providing users the freedom to enjoy their favorite music from any of today's popular multimedia sources. With the CMS3 Black Box installed, users can control all functions directly from the separate watertight controller. The simple robust design of the two controller options maximizes the system's reliability and robustness to harsh environments, while the two-line LCD display allows for simple, intuitive control of the system's features. Controller available in round gauge size (rear pressure mount) or rectangular (front screw mount) versions.
"Much like today's carmakers, boat builders are streamlining the look and feel of the instrument clusters of their boats. That trend has everyone gravitating toward new form factors for multimedia systems that require less instrument panel real estate, offer installation versatility and still provide durability against the elements, sans the blatantly "rugged" look and crude interface," said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning for Clarion Corporation of America. "With our latest marine-grade source models announced at IBEX 2016, we have focused a great deal on design and refined ergonomics, keeping in mind feedback provided to us by our boat manufacturer partners and boat owners alike. Both GR10BT and CMS3 benefit tremendously from that focus while offering industry-leading durability and a robust list of features."
