K-mobile Opens its Fifth Store in Ajax

AJAX, ON, Oct. 25, 2016 /CNW/ - The CEO of K-Mobile, Shami Munir, joined with Ajax Mayor Steve Parish to celebrate the grand opening of Ajax's first K-Mobile store.  Also joining the event was Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade's Director Ian McCutcheon and Business Development Manager Iris Nicolaison.

"We chose this store location in Ajax because we are excited to provide this community with our best selection of smartphones, accessories, and wide range of phone plans - and we have more locations set to open here in the region," said Munir.  "Our goal is to choose the best locations for our stores around the GTA and hire dedicated, talented employees from these communities."

K-Mobile has committed to hiring a total of 1000 employees to work in the 250 stores across the Greater Toronto area that will be open by 2018. The company is already on track with the opening of the first five stores. The company is also committed to hiring and training 100 Syrian refugees to become K-Mobile employees.

"After working in mobile industry for almost two decades and listening to customers, I knew that they wanted a better one-stop shop experience with the best products and plans. It's why we also designed our own smartphone - the K2 - with customers in mind, at a price point they can afford," added Munir.

K-Mobile recently launched its own smartphone, the K2, which is available at the affordable price of $299. The phone features an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera capable of 1080p video recording. The handset also has two SIM card slots, a 2,350 mAh battery and a 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixel display. The K2 also features exclusive apps, is unlocked and is fully customizable for all the customers' needs. K-Mobile has signed up with Koodo Mobile and Virgin Mobile as a multi-carrier.  It is now available in store or online at http://www.k-mobile.ca.

Mr. Shami Munir also thanked Canada Pakistan Business Council's President, Samir Dossal, who attended the event, for his ongoing support of K-Mobile.
