OnTime Networks Launches NEW Cloudberry CM-6200-MIL Series Rugged (VICTORY ready) Gigabit/10Gigabit Ethernet Switch with IEEE 1588 PTP GMC capability
DALLAS, Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- OnTime Networks, a global leader for rugged, time synchronized Ethernet solutions for the Aerospace and Defense Industry, announced today the expansion of its military-grade Gigabit Ethernet switch portfolio with the new CloudberryMIL CM-6200 Series.
The new Cloudberry CM-6200-MIL Series Rugged (VICTORY ready) Gigabit/10Gigabit Ethernet Switch with IEEE 1588 PTP GMC capability is a Fully Managed Layer 2/3 Ethernet Switch with up to 24 Gigabit Ethernet and four 10Gigabit Ethernet ports, specifically designed to reliably provide high-performance connectivity for extremely demanding size, weight and power (SWaP) constraints in the harsh climatically and noisy electrical demanding environments (e.g. high altitude, extreme shock, & vibration, extended temperatures, humidity, dust & water exposure, noisy EMI, dirty power) for applications on land, in the air and on sea.
The CM-6200 with its sealed IP68 aluminum chassis has been designed to meet MIL-STD-461F EMI/EMC and MIL-STD-810G thermal, shock, vibe, humidity, altitude, and ingress conditions. The unit features no moving parts, EMI filtering, and isolated MIL-STD-1275/704 power supply that protects against vehicle/aircraft voltage surges, spikes and transients.
Its performance is optimized for a large numbers of IP-enabled embedded devices, such as computers, cameras, sensors, and command-and-control equipment, deployed in manned and unmanned system platforms at the network edge.
The CM-6200 supports the latest generation of IPv6 switching, allowing it to meet the most challenging requirements for next generation DoD networks. IPv6 provides improved network security and reliability, while support for more network addresses allows for a greater number of interconnected devices. Additional management and configuration features include quality of service (QoS) prioritization, VLANs, LAG, SNMP, RSTP, VRRP, IGMP and traffic policing, providing customers the flexibility to meet their unique networking requirements.
Pal-Jørgen Kyllesø, CTO of OnTime Networks further commented, "The CM-6200 combined features allows the unit to be deployed in a wide array of applications in military vehicles, submarines, helicopters, and unmanned vehicles that need the ability to interconnect a large number of nodes." He continued, "We have seen an increasing demand for 10GbE backbone applications, which require the incorporation of the latest technology with increased accessibility, scalability and security features. With the NEW CM-6200 platform OnTime Networks is able to provide the right solution."
Markus Schmitz, Managing Director of OnTime Networks in the U.S., stated "Our new CM-6200 Series delivers the most advanced, cost-effective rugged networking solutions for demanding defense and aerospace platform applications. Its modularity and scalability allows OnTime to answer a wide range of customer requirements with one single platform."
About CM-6200-MIL Series
The CM6200-MIL is a ruggedized managed gigabit Ethernet switch with up to 28 ports specifically designed to operate reliably in the harsh climatically and noisy electrical demanding environments (e.g. high altitude, extreme shock, & vibration, wide temperatures, humidity, dust & water exposure, noisy EMI, dirty power) of military applications. The platform is also available with an extended temperature option.
The CM6200-MIL is a reliable and accurate PTP Grand Master Clock (GMC) or Transparent Clock/Slave Clock (TC/SC) fulfilling IEEE 1588 Std 2002 (v1) and IEEE 1588 Std 2008 (v2). Both PTPv1 and PTPv2 Slave clocks can co-exist in the same network by using the PTP version translator feature of the CM6200-MIL platform. The switch can also act as a NTP Network Time Server (NTS) and provide GPS emulation output both when enabled as a GMC and when operating as a TC/SC. GPS emulation means Pulse Per Second (PPS) output signals via GPO pins in the power connector (TTL) and NMEA telegrams via RS232 in the same connector. An IRIG-B002 output (TTL) signal can be provided via GPO pins in the power connector.
The CM6200-MIL is an advanced and highly engineered Gigabit switch that addresses complexity, enable modularity and provides growth, while delivering optimal performance for Space, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) constrained military applications onboard vehicles and aircraft platforms. The unit designed to meet the environmental requirements of MIL-STD 810G and the EMI/EMC requirements (Conducted & Radiated Emissions & Susceptibility) of MIL-STD 461F and 704E.
This fully managed, Layer 2/3 Gigabit switch provides a powerful set of networking features, including support for IPv4 multicast traffic filtering according to static filters or IGMP snooping, Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), port control (speed / mode / statistics, flow control), Quality of Service (QoS) traffic prioritization, Link Aggregation (802.3ad), SNMP v1/v2/v3 management, secure authentication (802.1X, ACLs, Web/CLI), redundancy (RSTP/MSTP) and port mirroring.
28VDC redundant power input with polarity protection and power hold-up (option) support is available through the 10 pin power/IO connector. The CM-6200 utilizes for single port connector requirements the Ceelok FAS-T connector for 10/100/1000BASE-T(x) and 10GBASE-T(x) copper ports and the ARINC801 optical termini in circular MIL-DTL-38999 connectors for 1000BASE-X/10GBASE-X fiber ports. For the 28 port variant the 10/100/1000BASE-T(x) ports are provided via 37pin Mighty Mouse connectors.
