PALM DESERT, Calif., March 22 -- Phone Halo, a mobile device application company specializing in products that fuse smartphone applications and wireless accessories, has launched its first product, Phone Halo Protect, at DEMO Spring 2010. Phone Halo Protect solves the common and costly problem of losing and misplacing your phone, keys, wallet, and other valuables.
"Phone Halo Protect works by attaching a small Bluetooth device to keys, purse, or other valuables. Software runs on the phone to track the distance between the phone and device. When the two become separated, both ring and alert you," explains Phone Halo CTO, Chris Herbert. "This is a truly preventative solution to loss."
"Phone Halo's unique combination of mobile applications and wireless hardware opens a new world of opportunities," said Matt Marshall, Executive Producer of DEMO. "I have misplaced my phone, keys, and wallet too many times. Phone Halo's solution is elegant and unique."
The Phone Halo Protect application has 4 main functions: Protect, Find, Locate, and Share.
Protect: Whenever the phone or halo'd valuable becomes separated, both phone and halo device ring to alert the user of the impending loss.
Locate: The user can ring the halo'd device by pressing a button on the phone to allow the halo'd item to easily be found. The user can hold a button on the halo device to cause the phone to ring.
Recover: Whenever the user loses their phone or halo'd item, Phone Halo Protect records the GPS location to show the user where they last saw their valuables.
Share: The Phone Halo Protect share option lets the user easily share they've lost an item through email, text, and posts to their social networks.
Phone Halo is currently available for Android and Blackberry phones. iPhone is coming soon.
