Franklin Wireless' Sleek, Versatile U210 USB Modem Now Available Worldwide, Enabling Flexible Broadband Wireless Connection
LAS VEGAS, March 23 -- CTIA Wireless 2010 -- Franklin Wireless Corp. (BULLETIN BOARD: FKWL) (http://www.franklinwireless.com), the market leader in dual-mode WiMAX/CDMA modems for 3G and 4G wireless broadband data communications, today announced the worldwide launch of its U210 USB modem, a single-mode device using EVDO (Evolution Data-Optimized) Rev. A technology. The U210 was previously launched to a limited number of carriers, but is now available to all of Franklin's customers across the globe.
With its slim (9mm), sleek design, the U210 provides a flexible way for mobile users to connect to wireless broadband networks. Franklin's U210 USB modem supports SMS, contains a built-in GPS receiver and operates with Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. Additionally, the microSD memory slot enables simultaneous use of the U210 as an external flash drive.
"Building on the initial success of our U210 among subscribers of Franklin's limited carrier partners, we're pleased to expand this product's reach and bring a more versatile connection device to mobile users around the world," said David Lee, chief operating officer of Franklin Wireless. "Not only is the U210 loaded with innovative features, it also offers the sought-after compact design that mobile users embrace."
The U210 is a tri-band device (800MHz/1900MHz/AWS) and its embedded software eliminates the need for an installation CD. Where CDMA EVDO 1x/Rev. 0/ Rev. A and AWS networks are available, the U210 can deliver superior data rates, giving users the power to send and receive email with large file attachments, play interactive games, and download high-resolution pictures, video and music files.
The U210 is available through Franklin Wireless and many of its carrier partners. Additional information about the U210 and the company's other products is available at the Franklin Wireless Booth (#235, Central Hall, M2M Zone) during CTIA Wireless 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center on March 23-25.
