PT Launches IPnexus(R) Element Management System for Remote, IP Monitoring and Management of Mission-Critical Systems
Enables Efficient, Cost-effective Monitoring of Globally Deployed Communications Infrastructure
LAS VEGAS, March 23 -- PT (NASDAQ:PTIX), the recently rebranded Performance Technologies, a leading global provider of advanced network communications solutions, today announced the release of its IPnexus® EMS (Element Management System), an IP-native system that allows network engineers at wireless and wireline carriers, service providers, and OEMs to rapidly install, monitor, and simultaneously manage hundreds of network elements from a single, secure interface point.
The IPnexus EMS system is a stand-alone, turn-key carrier grade device that includes all the hardware and software needed to provide a highly-available, centralized, and scalable management system that adheres to the five key ITU-T recommended areas: fault, configuration, performance, accounting, and security. With IP-based networks and communication systems increasing in size, complexity, and geographical dispersal, it is paramount for system operators to have an advanced tool that controls, manages, and monitors mission-critical network elements. This capability is vital for ensuring optimal system performance as well as for maintaining system availability and operational status. In addition, it assists with network revenue generation, and shortens the failure recovery interval. Rather than attempting to manage systems by the traditional means of linking each element on an individual basis, the IPnexus EMS simplifies connection to multiple elements with its extensible plug-in architecture. Its web-based design eases the management of these network elements through an IP port, making all configuration parameters accessible through the use of a built-in context-based, SNMP proxy engine. It supports a full set of management features that allow control and monitoring of a wide range of products, including PT's own IPnexus Application-Ready Systems, SEGway(TM) signaling and Xpress(TM) NGN solutions.
"From the inception of our design we set out to create a product that surpasses the traditional approach of an EMS," said John Grana, senior vice president of Products and Technology at PT. "By utilizing a web framework like Ruby on Rails® and exploiting inherent IP features, we offer unique capabilities such as an intuitive browser based graphical user interface, built in mapping for geographical based monitoring and real-time performance graphing, all of which are usable on any web enabled device. We believe that we have set the new standard in Element Management Systems in today's IP-based communication network."
PT is demonstrating its IPnexus EMS this week at CTIA Wireless 2010 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, in booth # 6551.
