Majesco Entertainment Announces 'Diamond Trust of London' for Nintendo DS(TM) and DSi(TM)
The First Nintendo DS Game Developed by Indy Talent Jason Rohrer Puts Players at the Center of Africa's Diamond Trade
EDISON, N.J., March 25 -- Secret dealings and espionage define Africa's illicit diamond trade. Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ:COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, puts players right in the middle of the chaos in its newest product for Nintendo DS(TM) and Nintendo DSi(TM) systems -- Diamond Trust of London. The battle to strip Angola of its valuable diamonds has reached fever pitch as only eight months remain until the United Nations starts regulating the sale of these rough precious gems. While controlling one of the last two underground companies operating in the region, players launch into a bidding war, racing against the clock and each other. Developed by award-winning video game designer Jason Rohrer, the title exposes the cutthroat nature of the diamond trade to a new generation of gamers.
In Diamond Trust of London, players lead opposing teams of agents traveling to Angola's six finest diamond-producing regions to buy diamonds to sell in the world's two major trading hubs: London and Antwerp. Taking place across eight rounds, the two-player, turn-based strategy title lets them play against AI or via a two-player local wireless connection between two nearby Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi(TM) units. Players will engage in subversions such as bribery, salary wars and clandestine diamond bids to gain the upper hand. They must be wary, however, as agents can be bribed -- and counter-bribed -- to the point where no one can be trusted. In addition, the Nintendo DSi(TM) camera adds another layer to bribery as players snap pictures of opponents or engage in facial bluffing as they spy on competitors.
Diamond Trust of London is expected to release this summer for Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi. The game is currently available for pre-order at http://www.GameStop.com. For additional information about Majesco's exciting line of products, please visit http://www.majescoentertainment.com.
